Huntly teenager sets sights on theatre career after UHI Moray graduation

A talented teenage singer and actress has taken the first hopeful steps towards her West End dream.

Chloe Cadmore, from Huntly, was amongst the UHI Moray students who graduated in Elgin on Friday, having achieved a level three diploma following a year-long course in Performing and Production Arts.

The 17-year-old has now progressed to studying Musical Theatre in Aberdeen.

Chloe appeared in tons of productions during her time as a pupil at The Gordon Schools.

In addition, she’s also a member of Aurora Productions, the Huntly-based theatre group.

Chloe says: “Before I started the course I went through a long period of thinking time about different career paths to actually realise what I wanted to do – which was musical theatre.

“This is what inspired me to get onto the course because it would give me a jump start into that career.

“I want to do musical theatre and go on UK tours and perform in the West End.

“The course was a lot of fun but I was quite shy coming into to it because I didn’t know anybody and was coming straight from secondary school.

“However, over the year I made friends and we’ve become such a close-knit family.

“It’s boosted my confidence so much.”

Chloe adds: “My advice to anyone thinking of carrying on with further study would be to take time to decide what you want. And if you’re not sure, then it’s okay to try things and see what’s best suited to you.”

Chloe’s list of favourite musicals includes the mega-hit Hamilton as well as Six which is a modern retelling of the lives of Henry VIII’s wives.
