WITH fervent hopes for dry weather, Peter Fair is due to return to Buckie next week.

All the fun of the fair will be back at its usual venue at Rathven from Wednesday, July 24 through to Friday, July 26.

The gates are set to open on Wednesday at 6pm, the evening running until 10pm. The following two days will see the festivities start at 1.30pm, also finishing at 10pm, with a large crowd expected for the traditionally busy Friday evening.

Set to headline the main rides at the fair will be stalwarts such as Freak Out, Midnight Express, Miami and the waltzers.

For those who are a bit young for the adrenalin-fuelled attractions, there will be a range of kiddie rides on offer.

Away from the rides themselves, fairgoers will be invited to roll up in traditional style to try their hand at snaring a prize or winning a game.

Peter Fair can be thirsty and hungry work so their will be a selection of food outlets on hand for the peckish.

Christian Horne, from Horne’s Pleasure Fairs, who run Peter Fair, said: “It seems as if it’s never stopped raining this year so hopefully the weather will smile on us when we come to Buckie.

“Things have levelled out for us after Covid so this year’s fair should be pretty much the same as normal.

“We’re looking forward to coming - Peter Fair is one of the oldest funfairs in Scotland.”
