Gamekeeper killed in quad bike accident near Grantown

A gamekeeper was killed in a quad biking accident on Tuesday afternoon, emergency services have confirmed.

The 27-year-old man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He is understood to be a gamekeeper employed by an estate in the Lochindorb area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.50pm on Tuesday, police were called to a report of a man injured after falling from a quad bike near to Dulnain Bridge by Grantown-on-Spey.

"Police and ambulance attended, however, the 27 year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

"The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this time."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said firefighters attended at the accident.

She said: "Operations control mobilised two appliances to assist emergency service partners at the scene.

"Sadly, a man passed away and our thoughts are very much with loved-ones at this difficult time."
