As part of the ‘Switched On Towns and Cities’ project, a joint survey has been launched.

This is asking what methods of transport folk currently use and whether they’ve heard of Scotland’s public network of electric vehicle chargers.

It also asks people which models of electric cars they are aware of, and what factors might stop them from buying one.

The survey, which runs until March 14, will help the council and the Energy Saving Trust determine future demand for electric vehicles.

It will also give them a lead about the necessary infrastructure, such as charging points, which will be needed across Moray to meet it.

So far 10 chargers for electric vehicles have been installed for public use in Moray.

Use of these increased by 85% in 2018/19, from 546 times in 2017/18 to 1,010.

Moray is also home to the first rural electric bus route, between Aberlour and Forres.
