Storm Éowyn sees Moray’s Maryhill Group Practice go ‘emergency-only’





A Moray GP surgery has moved to emergency-only services amid the impact of Storm Éowyn.

Taking to social media, a spokesperson for the Maryhill Group Practice confirmed that the decision was due to “low staffing levels”.

The announcement, just after 1pm today, is set to see reception staff “guide you to call back on Monday if the matter is not an urgent one.

Moray is currently subject to an amber Met Office warning for wind as a result of Storm Éowyn.

The warning is set to last until 6am tomorrow (Saturday, January 24).

A spokesperson for the Maryhill Group Practice said: “This afternoon the practice will be operating on an Emergency Only basis due to low staffing levels at the practice.

“If your condition/query is not urgent, we ask that you get in touch next week when we are back to operating as normal on Monday morning.

“The reception team at the practice are answering phone calls as normal but will guide you to call back on Monday if the matter is not an urgent one for this afternoon.”
