Moray Girlguiding coffee morning raises nearly £1000 for Amsterdam trip





A Girlguiding group has raised nearly £1000 to help fund a trip to Amsterdam.

1st Buckie and 1st Fochabers Girlguiding group hosted a coffee morning at Scout Hall, Keith on October 19.

The group raised money by selling a variety of raffles, hosting big bottle and sweetie stalls.

Maureen Watt, who is a teacher as well as a Girlguiding volunteer, said: “We were all chuffed with the amount raised and very grateful for the support of everyone who made it a success.

“The girls will use the money towards their trip to Amsterdam to make some great memories. Thank you to everyone for their support.”

The money raised will be used to help reduce the cost for the local Girlguiding group to take a trip to the capital of The Netherlands to participate in Amsterdam Adventure in April 2025.

The Amsterdam Adventure is an international Girlguiding game hosted by Girlguiding Scotland.

It allows girlguides to participate in activities around The Netherlands.

On Saturday, November 2, 1st Buckie and 1st Fochabers guides will be hosting another coffee morning between 10am and 12pm at Buckie Guide Hall to raise funds for the upcoming trip.
