Elgin ‘unexplained’ death enquiries continue as gun found at Munro Place property
A gun has been discovered at an Elgin property weeks after the “unexplained” death of a man.
A large police presence has surrounded a home on Munro Place - near Seafield Primary School - over the weekend.
Police have confirmed a firearm was discovered at the property on Saturday afternoon and was handed to officers.
On November 27, 2024, the body of a man was discovered at the same home.
Officers don’t believe the gun is connected to the man’s death, which they are still treating as unexplained and not suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 1.10pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025, a firearm was handed in to police after being found at a property on Munro Place, Elgin.
“Enquiries are ongoing. There is no risk to the wider public.”
