Nickel & Dime on Elgin High Street eyes expansion as planning application is submitted to Moray Council
A high street business has submitted plans to extend its shop to cope with growing demand.
Plans to extend the Nickel & Dime shop on Elgin High Street have been submitted to Moray Council by Plans Plus on behalf of applicant Muhammad Humayoon.
The shop, located at 171-173 High Street, sells kitchenware, bakeware, partyware and more.
The business is seeking to extend the existing building fronting on to Elgin High Street as well as the area backing on to the car park on Alexandra Road.
Planning documents state: “The extension is a continuation of the existing flat roof structure.
“The store carries large amounts of stock and more space is required to keep up with customer demands.
“The existing shop will remain largely unchanged with only the rear wall being removed to provide continuity of the shop floor.
“There are no changes to the front of the building facing on to the high street.”
The documents add that no changes to the drainage system will be needed as only shop space is required.
