The scarf will launch in October in time for The Campaign for Wool's 11th anniversary and will have its debut at London Craft Week.

The Campaign for Wool was created by The Prince of Wales as a multi-national, cross-industry coalition to raise the profile of wool as the natural sustainable fibre for fashion and interiors.

Jenny Urquhart, Chairman of Johnstons of Elgin, said: "It has been a huge honour and pleasure to work so closely with The Prince's Foundation in helping create The Highgrove Heritage Scarf.

"The amalgamation of artisanship, heritage and sustainability is at the heart of our brand values and throughout this collaboration. All of which, have been carefully accounted for throughout the design and manufacturing process.

"Everything from combining the two most historical check designs together, to the warm honey colour that was inspired by both the Highgrove Gardens and the iconic bee in the Johnstons of Elgin logo have been blended to create The Highgrove Heritage Scarf."

Johnstons of Elgin will be donating 10% of all retail sales to help support the work of The Prince's Foundation. The Prince's Foundation offers a diverse range of innovative and inspiring education and training programmes for all ages and backgrounds. Programmes take place within and beyond the charity’s sites, both nationally and internationally.

Constantine Innemée, Highgrove director at The Prince's Foundation, added: "The Prince's Foundation has enjoyed a successful working relationship with Johnstons of Elgin for some time now, and we are delighted that this partnership has yielded such a beautiful garment as The Highgrove Heritage Scarf.

"Education and training programmes are at the forefront of The Prince's Foundation's work, and it is important to us that the proceeds from the sales of the scarf are ploughed back into delivery of these programmes."

The scarf is made from 100% wool which is a sustainable and biodegradable natural material. The sale of Highgrove products will support and enable the life and work of The Prince's Foundation.

The Heritage Highgrove Scarf will retail at £89 RRP.
