THE Keith 50+ Group gathered to mark three decades this week.

Some of the founding and original members attended for their 30-year celebration at the town's North Church Hall on Monday, October 18.

The group is part of the Grampian 50+ Network, which exists to create opportunities for older people to lead more active, stimulating and rewarding lives.

The 43-strong Keith group marked the milestone with a special cake and social catch-up, as well as a fun competition.

Members had been challenged to find the best bargain they could from local charity shops to bring along to the event. The item judged to be "best bargain" was a mother-of-pearl pendant. All the items will be returned to charity shops to be sold again.

The members meet regularly to enjoy a wide range of activities, including speakers and music, and have their own walking group offshoot.

Keith 50+ Group meets on Mondays, at the North Church Hall, at 9.45am.
