A mini-series in conversation with the finalists of the Highland Book Prize 2021 ahead of the awards ceremony on May 26.

In this first episode we speak to David Alston, author of Slaves and Highlanders: Silenced Histories of Scotland and the Caribbean. His work explores the links to the slave-trade in the region and how this part of history plays into modern Scotland and the Highlands.

More information about David and his research (as well as a series of self-guided tours around sites and buildings with connections to the slave-trade in Inverness and the Highlands) on davidalston.info.
