A MORAY business that launched online during lockdown has opened its first shop.

Acorn Kids, which sells sustainable children's clothing and toys, was set up by Ericka White during the coronavirus pandemic – and she has now opened her own shop in Lossiemouth.

"We opened at one of the most difficult times for a business," Ericka said. "However, it had been a long time in the making and we were ready and eager to get going.

"We have been an online store for two years and travelled throughout these years to local markets to trade throughout Scotland.

"We are thrilled to be trading in our new shop."

The shop is located at 51a Queen Street in Lossie and officially opened on Saturday, May 7.

The opening day was attended by children's author Scott MacDonald, who signed books for three hours.

Ericka added: "Our open day was a huge success.

"We invited Scott, who wrote children's book Henry the Heron, to come along – which was a big hit also.

"Scott used to live in Lossiemouth just a couple of streets away from the new shop."

The shop is opened five days a week. From Tuesday to Friday it's open from 9.30am until 2.30pm and on Saturdays it's open from 10am until 4pm.
