A LOSSIEMOUTH restaurant has helped the local community during lockdown by donating £1000 to two youth groups.

Bridge45, owned by David Guidi and managed by his daughter Julie, has handed £500 to Lossiemouth FC Youth Development and the 4th Lossiemouth Company Boys' Brigade.

The money was raised when the restaurant hosted a sportsman's dinner in February with Rangers FC legends Nacho Novo and Ian Durrant attending as guest speakers.

Julie Guidi said: "We hosted a sports dinner and the Rangers legends came and spoke at the meal.

"We had an auction and a raffle and the money made from that has gone towards the Lossie Youth Development and the Boys' Brigade.

"My son has been going to the Boys' Brigade since he was in P1 and he is P7 now. We have been donating all that time.

"The Youth Development used the money to buy new kits. We handed the money over in the middle of lockdown."

Mrs Guidi also thanked Alison Cameron, manager, and Andy Pollock, head baker, at Tesco for their help with organising the sportsman's dinner.

James Allan, captain at the Boys' Brigade and treasurer at Lossiemouth FC, was more than grateful for the donations.

He said: "David and Julie have been very good to the Boys' Brigade over the last few years – usually donating money from the raffle at their Ladies' Day.

"David asked if I knew of any boys football in the town he could give half the money this year along with the Boys' Brigade.

"I told him about Lossiemouth FC Youth Development and they were delighted to receive half for a new kit for their under 13s team.

"It's a great help receiving this kind donation every year and helps us buy our awards and trophies.

"It is really hard for the businesses in this difficult times and they have all suffered great loss, yet again David and Julie are helping the local community.

"I can't thank David, Julie and their staff enough for all their help and support they have given us over the years."

Last year, the Boys' Brigade bought a new trophy – which will be handed out annually – and named it the Bridge45 trophy as a thanks for all the support the restaurant has given the company.

Mrs Guidi added: "James is great and does so much in the local community so it was good to give something back to him.

"We want to thank everybody in the local community for supporting us during these hard times."
