Man (28) appears in court after "disturbance" at St Giles Centre in Elgin

A MAN appeared in court today in connection with a disturbance at the St Giles Centre in Elgin last night.

Liam Forsyth (28) appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court and made no plea to two charges of assault, as well as charges of police assault, possessing a knife and threatening behaviour.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Forsyth was arrested at 7pm on Sunday, May 23, after what police described as "a disturbance".
