Man (68) charged after Kinloss Primary School pupil hit by car

A MAN has been charged in connection with an incident that saw a Kinloss Primary School pupil struck by a car.
The primary five pupil was taken to Dr Gray's in Elgin on Monday after being hit on the leg and ankle, with both the the police and ambulance service in attendance at the scene.
A 68-year-old man, who left without giving his details, has now been charged.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a child pedestrian who was struck by a car on Burghead Road near Kinloss Primary School shortly after 3.05pm on Monday.
"The child was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin for treatment following the incident.
"The vehicle initially stopped at the scene but then left before leaving details.
“A 68-year-old man has been charged in connection and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The incident has led to calls for safety measures around Kinloss Primary School to be improved.
Rebecca Black, the mother of the child who was struck by the car, has set up a petition asking Moray Council to make improvements as soon as possible.
