The incident occurred in Buckpool on Wednesday night.

Detective Sergeant Alex Carle said: "Around 10.20pm on Wednesday, March 23 police were alerted to a report of a 14-year-old girl being robbed on St Andrew's Square, Buckie.

"We can confirm that a 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"Thankfully, incidents of this nature remain relatively rare in Moray and the victim was uninjured.

"Further enquiries remain ongoing and I would encourage anyone with information to contact Police on 101, quoting incident number 3540 of 23 March."

DS Carle added that the man was due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on today (Friday, March 25).
