B9014 motorbike crash, near Keith, leads to man’s death - with 18-year-old in hospital





One man has died and another is in hospital after crash involving a motorbike.

A 26-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the one-vehicle crash, which took place near Keith this morning (Monday, January 27).

An 18-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. His condition is described by police as stable.

The incident occurred on the B9014, near the junction with the B9115 at Drummuir, at around 6.35am. It involved a black and white Honda CBR 125 motorcyle.

The road was closed until 1.45pm and police have now launched an appeal for information.

Sergeant Lesley Morrison said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are asking anyone who was driving in the area in the early hours of the morning and who may have seen what happened to get in touch.

“Please check dash-cams to see if anything that could assist with our investigation has been captured.”
