Man pronounced dead after incident in Fochabers

A MAN has been pronounced dead after an incident in Fochabers.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the River Spey at 11.15am after “concern for a person”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.15am on Wednesday, July 3, we were called to Old Spey Bridge, Fochabers, following concern for a person.

“A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There would not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
