THE body of a man has been found by police searching for a missing diver in the Moray Firth.

Police Scotland launched a search on Sunday after a diver was reported missing off Tarbat Ness, near Portmahomack.

The alarm was raised about 1pm, with police divers called in to search those waters.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed that the body of a 60-year-old man, who is yet to be named, was recovered on Monday.

"As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted in due course to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to the incident," the spokesperson said.
