The Moray Firth's very own mermaid, Ashleigh More, will be making a second appearance of the summer at Hopeman's East Beach (close to the beach huts) on Thursday, August 19 from 3.30-5.30pm.

This is the second time that Ashleigh and The Northern Scot, and its sister papers, have joined forces for charity.

Earlier in the summer the event raised money for the Ladybird Group in Lossiemouth which supports children with additional needs.

And this time, two charities will benefit from Meet the Mermaid.

Logan's Fund is a Moray-based children's cancer charity which offers support to young people and their families.

And part of the proceeds will also go to Macmillan Cancer Support, which is the Highland News and Media charity of the year.

With social distancing restrictions now relaxed in Scotland, there is no need to book appointments to Meet the Mermaid on Thursday and youngsters, accompanied by parents and guardians, can turn up on the day.

You can talk to Ashleigh and get your photo taken, for a donation to our charity fund.
