Police Scotland operation in Moray results in seizure of £14,000 worth of drugs including cocaine
A month-long police operation has resulted in over £14,000 worth of drugs being seized across towns in Moray.
Police Scotland say that four search warrants were executed at addresses in Buckie and Elgin in September.
Quantities of both class A and Class B drugs were recovered as well as cash, friction lock batons and knuckledusters.
In Elgin, £6,500 of cocaine was recovered and a 39-year-old man arrested and charged.
Meanwhile, in Buckie, a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged after £2800 of cocaine was recovered.
In total, 16 people were charged and reported in connection with drugs offences whilst a further nine received recorded police warnings.
Police Constable Joe Jacques said, “These days of action across Moray were intelligence led and designed to tackle the issues around drugs and drug related harm in our communities.
“We recognise that enforcement alone is not the solution so these days of action are also about providing support to people who may need it and protecting the vulnerable from those who seek to exploit them.”
