AN ADVICE service is celebrating 40 years of helping people from across Moray.

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) Moray was incorporated on July 14, 1979.

Last year, trained volunteers helped 5282 clients deal with 7442 issues. Of those, 2284 were accessing the CAB service for the first time.

CAB Moray helps with a range of issues in relation to welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, consumer, family, law and rights, tax, utilities, health and education.

Manager Mary Riley said: "We provide to the community of Moray peace of mind, answers to problems, help in a complicated world, empowerment, trusted entity and we pride ourselves on our face to face service delivery."

For every £1 the service receives in funding, £6 is generated back into the local community.

CAB Moray also provides a range of specialist advice and runs outreach services in Buckie, Keith, Forres, Tomintoul, Dufftown and Lossiemouth.

Visit www.moraycab.org.uk for further details or visit the service's main office at 6 Moss Street, Elgin.
