A number of groups in Moray have organised events for the week long campaign.

The Fairer Moray Forum Action Group have joined the week long campaign running from today until October 10 alongside hundreds of organisations across Scotland. The goal of the campaign is to highlight the reality of poverty and to showcase solutions.

Elidh Brown, Partnership Development Lead for tsiMoray, said: "As Co-chairs of Fairer Moray Forum Action Group, Norma Matheson from Moray Council and I are delighted that so many groups and organisations in Moray are working together through Moray Challenges Poverty, as part of the National Challenge Poverty Week campaign, to raise awareness of poverty and inequalities in Moray, and to highlight the current range of services and supports available locally.

"We hope as many people as possible will take part in these local events, many of which are online, to learn more about poverty in Moray, and see how their actions can help loosen the grip of poverty on people's lives."

Presentations and demonstrations will take place throughout the week from prominent Moray charities and individuals.

Some of the issues tackled will include child poverty, the living wage, The Moray Emergency Relief Fund and many more.

Anyone is welcome to attend the events and to share the presentations, toolkits and videos showcased.
