MORAY College UHI will be open to staff and students tomorrow after emergency repairs were carried out.

Storm Brendan forced a shut-down of the entire Elgin campus today after strong winds caused damage to the roof of the main building off Moray Street.

A college spokesperson said: "We are pleased to confirm that following emergency works carried out on site today, Moray College UHI – all buildings – will fully re-open on Wednesday, January 15."

Storm Brendan blasted Moray with rain and south-westerly gusts upwards of 50mph. Flood alerts were in place along much of Scotland's coastline.

Some weather disruption was forecast to continue throughout the next 24 hours.

Elgin's Moray College was closed today following overnight storm damage – but will re-open tomorrow.
