Moray Conservatives announce David Gordon as Speyside Glenlivet candidate
THE Moray Conservatives have announced their candidate set to contest the Speyside Glenlivet ward at the upcoming Local Government Elections.
David Gordon will stand for the Tories in the election, which will take place on May 5.
Speaking after being selected, David said: “It will be a great honour to stand as the Scottish Conservative candidate for Speyside Glenlivet.
“I have run a magazine focusing on local issues for the last 15 years and therefore I am more than familiar with local organisations, businesses and people.
"If elected, I look forward to utilising these networks to help improve communities and support the projects that can advance quality of life in the area."
David also pledged to be a voice for those living in rural areas, adding: “I am an experienced climber and hill walker and see the countryside as a balancing of interests – landowners, industry, tourism and leisure all co-existing with residents.
"It is important to ensure these coincide with respect and co-operation.
“It goes without saying that rural needs are different to those in urban communities and I pledge to be a voice for those living rurally.”
Local Tory MP and party leader Douglas Ross said: “It’s great to see David selected to contest Speyside Glenlivet ward.
"He knows the ins and outs of rural issues and will do everything he can to stand up for the communities throughout the area.”
