STAFF at AccuNostics have had their fears of redundancy confirmed – while taxpayers could be left up to £2.7 million out of pocket.

Employees at the hi-tech Forres firm were sent home suddenly two weeks ago, after being informed by management of the company’s problems.

The news is understood to have come as a complete surprise to many of them.

Administrators from Chantrey Vellacott were appointed last Friday, and informed staff of the redundancies on Tuesday.

AccuNostics had 24 full-time employees, five contractors and three agency workers. It remains unclear whether they will receive any payment for February.
