This week we look back at Elgin’s town centre in 1986.

Pictures show many of the town’s former shops - and some that remain to this day. Who remembers Arnott’s, Clancy’s, Streetwise or RG Hall?
Or how about the swimming pool, which was located where Aldi stands in 2025? Another photo shows Elgin Motors - which was located where the Moray Council HQ car park now is at the east end of the high street.
