This video is helping cheer up Moray tots who are stuck inside – and is also giving their parents some support.

Teaching staff from four nurseries in Elgin and Lossiemouth created the video last week.

With the country heading towards lockdown, they were left wondering when they would see their young charges again.

So they came up with a plan to make the enforced break a little easier for everyone.

Lauren Hayward is the managing director of the Torridon Education Group which runs Little Learners and East Beach Nurseries in Lossiemouth, as well as Jack and Jill plus Bishopmill nurseries in Elgin.

She said: "We're normally with the children all the time – sometimes for up to seven hours a day.

"So we knew it would be difficult and unsettling for them to suddenly not see us at all."

The video feature the teachers telling the youngsters to wash their hands regularly, and also suggesting all sorts of ways they can have fun indoors."

Lauren said: "All the staff wanted to take part. We even had clips sent in by some who were self-isolating which they'd filmed at home."

On top of that the Torridon Group has also made another video featuring Alba, a little terrier dog who's a familiar face at all the nurseries.

Thanks to the clever use of technology, Alba has been filmed telling a story called the Stay Home SuperHeroes.

The story details how the whole world is facing a a big problem which can't be defeated by normal superpowers such as immense strength or great speed.

However, the problem can be conquered if all the Stay Home SuperHeroes have fun in their own homes or gardens.

Lauren said: "Both the videos are proving really popular on social media.

"Many families say their children have already watched them a dozen times at least.

"It's very sad that some of the children might not be coming back to the nursery if this goes on for a long time – they'll be starting school instead.

"But once the restrictions are fully relaxed we will definitely have a party. We will see the children again."
