Pupils are logging their daily journeys to school using an online travel tracker.

And those who travel actively at least once a week will be rewarded with a unique badge at the end of the month.

Hopeman's head teacher Georgina Young said: "I know our students are eager to start making more active travel journeys in the weeks and months to come."

For the challenge Moray Council has teamed up with Living Streets – the UK charity for everyday walking.

Janet MacDonald, the council's sustainable travel officer, said: "We’re thrilled with the news that Hopeman primary is the latest school in Moray to join the challenge.

"It helps pupils to maintain good physical and mental health while also easing congestion at the school gates."
