Moray SNP candidate says party's manifesto "overflowing with ambition"

MORAY'S SNP candidate for tomorrow's Scottish Parliamentary Election has said his party's manifesto is "overflowing with ambition, ideas and commitments".
Richard Lochhead, who has served as Moray's MSP since 2006, said he is proud of his track record and hopes to continue working in his role as Scotland recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said: “Tomorrow’s election is about the future of Moray.
“I am proud of my track record that has seen huge investment in local health services, transports networks and our schools, as well as our major flood schemes and funding for a new bridge in Lossiemouth.
"I have also tackled the UK Government’s neglect of issues that hit Moray hard – like Brexit, parcel delivery surcharges, bank closures and lack of broadband regulation.
“Most of all I have worked in partnership with Moray’s communities to get us all through the pandemic and now we must turn out attention to recovery.
"The SNP’s manifesto is overflowing with ambition, ideas and commitments such as a National Care Service and more investment in health and education."
Mr Lochhead added that the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic requires "serious leadership" and he hopes he can provide that.
“People in Moray tell me they welcome the fact that at least one party has serious ambitions for government and one leader has the credentials to be First Minister and that’s the SNP and Nicola Sturgeon," he said.
"We have offered Scotland a prospectus and vision for the future but the other parties have just attacked the SNP like a broken record with their aggressive and relentless negativity.
“Serious times require serious leadership and I hope to continue to offer that locally as the SNP does nationally.”
