Both events take place on Saturday, November 2, and will start at 6.30pm with the lighting of the bonfire followed by the fireworks display at 7pm.

Elgin Rotary president, Marian Evans, said: “We are excited to continue this tradition and bring the community together for a night of celebration and entertainment.”

Forres Rotary vice president, Jackie Stephen, added: “We are looking forward to a spectacular fireworks display and to welcoming the people of Forres to our community event of the year.”

Elgin’s annual firework display will take place at Cooper Park, with Forres’ at Grant Park.

The event in Elgin will also have a variety of food stalls, as well as funfair rides for youngsters in attendance. Forres also has a wide range of stalls and entertainment for children.

The annual guy competition will be returning this year in Forres, with the winner receiving £30 for their efforts.

Elgin’s guy, made by Out of The Darkness Theatre Group, will also return this weekend.

Both events will be free to attend. However, donations are greatly appreciated by both organising committees.
