A MORAY business organisation has launched an advertising campaign reminding visitors to stay "two casks" apart.

As part of the Moray Chamber of Commerce "Open With Confidence" initiative, posters have been created in partnership with Speyside communications agency SPEY. These have been circulated to local businesses for display urging customers to follow precautions to limit the spread of coronavirus.

More than 500 posters have been printed and many more have been downloaded from the chamber website by members. They are on display across local businesses in Lossiemouth, Elgin, Buckie, Dufftown, Forres and Keith. They have also been shared on social media.

The initiative is the latest move from the chamber in its efforts to support the business community as it reopens and welcomes visitors from further afield.

Other schemes include a track and trace app, which has had more than 5,000 check-ins across almost 70 local hospitality businesses, and ConnectU, a programme where local businesses can receive professional expert advice across a range of industries free of charge.

Sarah Medcraf, the Moray chamber's chief executive, said: "At the chamber we’re working hard to protect and support our local business community.

"Now is a challenging time for everyone and it’s important to us that our members and the wider community feel supported as they recover from what has been a tumultuous few months.

"We wanted to create something that was light-hearted, with a nod to Moray’s whisky heritage, but which still sent a strong message to visitors to our region about the importance of socially distancing.

"As the dangers around Covid-19 persist, we continue to urge people who live, work and visit our community to stay two casks apart in line with Scottish Government guidance."
