In total some 325 boxes of fish, prawns and squid although the number of bags of clams brought ashore was slightly down at 37.

These figures compare with 272 boxes and 42 bags recorded the week before.

There were more vessels landing their catches last week, eight in all.

They were: Our May; Chloe Ella; Lily Oak VI; Sharona; Illustrious; Blue Sky; Transcend; Emerald Dawn.

This was double the number of boats bringing in their catches the week prior.

Meanwhile, on the cargo front there was a sole caller at Buckie Harbour.

Last Wednesday the Dutch-registered MVH&S Prudence imported approximately 1582 tonnes of malt from Mistley. She then sailed light on January 23.

The week before also saw a lone cargo vessel call, the MV Helene G (Antigua).
