Forres Mechanics to host Boots, Balls and Bales by Your Vibe Events
Yeeee-haw! Head along to Mosset Park next weekend for a good ol’ shindig in aid of Forres Mechanics.
Enjoy the country and western, street chow, fun and games at the ‘Boots, Balls and Bales’ family country music festival from 11am-8pm on Sunday, September 14, organised by Your Vibe Events.
Your Vibe spokeswoman, Kay Thomson, said: “We host the Forres Family Markets on the neighbouring former Tesco site and because of its success, we were approached by Mechanics to host an event with them.
“Get ready for a day filled with fun; lace up your boots, grab your balls, and let's have a blast!
“Whether you're a football fanatic or just looking for a good time, this event is for you. Join us for games, activities, and maybe even a surprise or two.”
The music line-up includes Channa Country, Martin Bannon, Forres Line Dancers, Forty Elephants, The Country Quines and Starlite DJ as well as Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton and Shania Twain tributes.
“Country Music has seen an increase in followers in this past year,” said Kay, “so I thought it would be welcomed as a new event in the area.
“If it goes well and is well attended, the club would like to make it a yearly festival.”
Forres Mechanics does not have charity status so requires fundraising to operate.
Chairman David MacKintosh said: “The proceeds will be invested in the running of the club. We hope to host more events for the community that will help us achieve this.
“Boots, Balls and Bales offers a variety of entertainment, including lots for families.”
Street food vendors and a licensed bar will also feature at the inaugural event.
There will be trampolines, a bouncy castle, crafts and merchandise, as well as arm wrestling competitions, a fancy dress/country outfit parade and prizes.
On site bar Tinkle Tap will be complimented by catering from Speyside Kitchen, The Bonnie Beastie, Edelwurst, Qismat, Emma's Fancy Wee Piece, The Frosty Herd ice cream, Popsey’s doughnuts and Haydn’s Woodfired Pizza.
