Ross village poised for £2m lotto scoop
A CONON Bridge pub will be packed to the seams on Saturday when it plays host to the People’s Postcode Lottery’s £2 million party.
The Conon Bridge Hotel has been chosen to host one of the biggest events of the year for the area, as it is announced that players in the IV7 8 area will scoop £2 million.
And lucky hotel manager, Caroline Campbell, will also be jumping for joy with the nervous residents, as she and her dad play the charity lottery too.
Speaking about the event Caroline, who has been managing the hotel for almost seven years, said: "I couldn’t believe it when we were approached to host the winner’s party, especially as my dad Donnie, and I both play and live in IV7 8 area. It was difficult keeping quiet when I knew that we had won something, keeping it all a secret for a couple of days."
Caroline added: "There’s a really good vibe in the village. Everyone has been chatting about it, it’s in the local paper, on the radio – it’s so good for the area. We just all can’t wait now to find out how much we’ve won."
After discovering at the beginning of the month that local residents living in the IV7 8 area have won the December Postcode Millions, event organisers have been on the hunt for the perfect location to host the party. Right in the heart of the village, they decided on the High Street hotel as the ideal venue to reveal the lucky winners at a private party.
Events manager at People’s Postcode Lottery, Nicole Allan, said: "We are delighted that the event will be hosted at the Conon Bridge Hotel. There’ll be a big marquee just to the side for the winners and we hope everyone will have an amazing time. It’s going to be a fantastic event."
Select winners are currently being contacted by the People’s Postcode Lottery team. Doors opens from 11am and guests are asked to register at the Hotel. Entertainment will start at 12pm. The winners party is invite only and guests must be over the age of 16. The event will finish at 1pm.
