One person arrested after man injured in Fife

A man has been arrested after police were called to reports of someone injured in a Fife village.

Emergency services went to the scene on High Street in Newburgh on Wednesday morning.

Police said the injured man was taken to hospital.

Officers said a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault and inquiries are ongoing.

The High Street was closed while emergency services attended the incident but later reopened.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene at 7.24am.

A spokesperson said: “An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Ninewells Hospital (Dundee).”
