Stonemasons from G.Laing Stonecraft have expertly restored stonework at 29 South Street after landlord Emily Stalker applied to Moray Council for funding.

The stonework, which dates back to 1927, had fallen into a state of disrepair but Emily says that the restoration has breathed "new life" into the property.

"It really breathes new life into the building," Emily said.

"I think it also reminds people about the heritage of the town because I think that can be kind of forgotten sometimes.

"It's easy to walk by these things without really noticing but I think seeing it restored is really nice."

The restoration has garnered the interest of hundreds of people on social media with Emily posting updates as the work progressed.

"It's actually really visible to people and I didn't really know how much these things resonated with people until I started posting about it on social media," Emily said.

"Some of it couldn't be repaired but they have actually taken those bits out and remade it.

"It's just incredible work."
