THE governing board of Moray’s health and social care partnership has a new leader at the helm.

Moray Integration Joint Board (IJB) has welcomed Dennis Robertson as its new chairman.

The MIJB is responsible for strategic planning and ensuring delivery of Moray's community health and social care services.

Mr Robertson took over the role at a meeting of the MIJB on Thursday, September 24. He and fellow members paid tribute to outgoing chairman Jonathan Passmore for all his work leading the board.

Mr Robertson, who is a non-executive board member of NHS Grampian and has been a member of the IJB for over a year, said: "I look forward to continuing to work closely with my fellow IJB members as we navigate these challenging times.

"I also want to acknowledge the huge amount of hard work that has gone on during Covid-19, not only by our own dedicated and committed health and social care staff but by unpaid carers, volunteers, the third and independent sectors who have all gone above and beyond.

"There have been many examples of effective partnership working right across Moray and it is vital we continue to build on this to meet the challenges of sustaining and improving health and social care services for our communities."

The MIJB also welcomed back Professor Nick Fluck, executive medical director, as one of its six voting members. Prof Fluck was on the board in 2015-16.

Thanks were also expressed to Dr Graham Taylor who has stepped down from his role as one of the two clinical leads on the board to concentrate more on his practice.
