New MP Seamus Logan vows to work for all constituents

NEWLY-elected SNP MP for Aberdeenshire North and Moray East Seamus Logan has vowed to work for all his constituents after winning the seat.

Mr Logan went on to express his thanks to all those who voted for him in the July 4 general election.

He overturned a notional Conservative majority of 2400 to win the seat, beating the leader of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, Douglas Ross, in the process. an EXIT poll just after voting closed gave Mr Ross a 99 per cent chance of taking the seat.

Mr Logan said: “I thank all who voted for me.

“And promise those that didn't that I will be there for them when they need me.

“I’m proud and honoured that the people of the place I love, the place I call home chose me as their Member of Parliament for the constituency.
“The election is over. The hard work of the next five years starts now.”

Mr Logan also went on to pay tribute to his predecessor in the Banff and Buchan part of the constituency.

He added: “I also want to pay tribute to David Duguid for his work during his time as MP for Banff and Buchan.

“Political differences aside, David is a decent man who has had a tough time recently and I wish him and his family all the best for his continued recovery from his illness.”
