WOODEN seating and planters have been removed from Elgin town centre to make way for an upgrade.

New seating will be installed at the Plainstones over tomorrow and Wednesday.

The replacements, funded by the Spaces for People fund from Sustrans, will still include seating, cycle parking and planters.

Meanwhile, Elgin BID has erected 22 hanging baskets along the High Street.

Gemma Cruickshank, Elgin BID manager, said: "The High Street is looking great with the flowers in the planters starting to come out, along with the addition of the hanging baskets.

"We are working on a couple of projects which we hope will help brighten the city centre and make it more welcoming to residents and visitors."
