Elgin eatery to offer Asian cuisine including fresh sushi and bubble tea

Sushi, bubble tea and street food is coming to Elgin next week with the opening of the town’s latest eatery.

You You Tea, located at 69 High Street next to Farmfoods, is set to open its doors to the public by the end of next week bringing a variety of cuisine from across Asia to Moray.

The establishment is the brainchild of 59-year-old Chinese businessman Quanjin You.

Dating back to the 1980s, bubble tea originated in Taiwan but has steadily grown in popularity in recent years.

It is a tea-based drink, mixed with milk and sweeteners and typically contains chewy tapioca pearls also known as ‘boba’.

The pearls have a mild, neutral taste and are primarily used to add a unique texture rather than any kind of distinctive flavour.

You You Tea will also offer fresh sushi, Asian-inspired street food as well as cake.
