CHILDREN across Moray and Aberdeenshire have produced Christmas-related artwork as part of a competition run by NFU Mutual.

Kids taking part in the competition were asked to design artwork which represented their idea of Christmas in the country.

Christmas in the Country was the title of the competition, run by the Keith/Turriff branch of NFU Mutual, which was open to children of all ages.

All entries were created by individuals. However, the children of St Thomas R C Primary School in Keith (pictured), went the extra mile, by hand-delivering their combined classroom effort to the office in Keith.

Keith artist Joyce Thain helped choose the winners, who produced an amazing variety of work and ideas about what Christmas in the country means to them.

The overall winner was Ianthe Mitchell, who will be asked to choose a charity for NFU Mutual Keith/Turriff to donate £200 towards.

The category winners were as follows:

Over 11s: 1st: Ianthe Mitchell, Portgordon Primary School 2nd: Havanna Lundie, Portgordon Primary School 3rd: Nicoya Thomson, Banff Academy.

9-11s: 1st: Connor Nunns, Portgordon Primary 2nd: Taylor Smith, Craigellachie Primary School 3rd: Caitlyn McCormack, Portgordon Primary School.

NFU Mutual Keith/Turriff agent Richard Thompson said: “Thank you to all the children who made such a spectacular effort with their art work.

"It has brightened up our office window over the festive season.

"We will be in contact with all the winners in the new year, through their school, to forward an Amazon voucher to them.

"We look forward to finding out which charity Ianthe would like the agency to donate to and are glad we are able to help out those in need, especially at this time of the year.”
