Northern Scot staff from 1974 photo identified

AN OLD photo of Northern Scot staff in 1974 was discovered recently by a former employee.
Neil Macdonald, who was an apprentice compositor at the paper at the time, found the photograph while clearing out his house near Duffus.
And now, after the photo appeared in the Northern Scot on June 5, three people pictured have come forward to provide more detail.
Stephen Young, pictured with the glasses second from the left, said the day was a retirement ceremony for Jock Cameron – who was a compositor at the time. He identified Mr Cameron fourth in from the left.
Margaret Cruickshank, also pictured, had a go at naming everyone in the picture – but thought the occasion was the retirement of either Sandy Brander or "Cossar" Anderson which took place at the printing works.
She said: "The back row, left to right, is Hamish Davidson; Robbie Munro; Michael Payne; Cyril Cruickshank; Ron Smith and Terry Campbell. The two ladies at very back are Meg Rose and Heather Menzies. I think the man at the very back far right is Willie Hall but not certain.
"Middle row, left to right, is Willie Leslie; Stephen Young Jnr; Ian Marshall; Sandy Brander (two others have said this is in fact Jock Cameron); Stephen Young Snr and Mr ("Cossar") Anderson. Only eyes and hair visible of Molly Thomson who was a proof reader, next to her but only hair again is Helen Fraser, another proof reader. Then it's Miss Garrow with glasses on who was office manager and Mrs Menzies (wife of Lawrie Menzies, Northern Scot photographer at the time).
"The front row is Maureen Duncan, myself in younger form, Margaret Henderson, Moira Michie, Neil Macdonald and John Gow.
"Only one I can’t see is the chap between Neil and John. Could be either James Urquhart or Brian MacDonald but that's a guess."
Heather Menzies, now McIntosh, also got in touch to identify herself and a number of the women at the back right of the photo. The Scot was her first job after leaving school.
