It has been a busy Summer here at DYW Moray…
We held our first month long campaign in July to promote the Young Persons Guarantee, a programme that encourages employers and key partners to commit to supporting and employing young people across the region. The DYW Moray team have met with many Moray employers and would like to thank those who have pledged their commitment to date. We also have/held our #Nowrongpath social media campaign on 9th August 2022, exam results day which showcases/showcased a variety of career paths that people in Moray have taken since school, with the aim to demonstrate that no matter what exam results young people receive, there is no wrong path!
On a sadder note, however, we are losing two members of our team this month who are off to pursue careers in lecturing, so we wish them the best of luck on their next steps! As a result, we are recruiting two DYW School Coordinators in the next few weeks. We are excited to get them started and embedded within our school teams after the Summer holidays. Watch this space!
Finally, we have a brilliant event coming up on Monday, 15th August 2022 in partnership with UHI Moray - ‘Help Shape the Future at UHI Moray’. We are encouraging businesses to sign up to the FREE event which will provide an opportunity to discuss with UHI Moray staff what courses they would like to see offered, to meet the needs of their business now and in the future. We also have some fantastic guest speakers from Skills Development Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and our DYW Moray Chair who will be discussing the current Moray economic landscape.
