Motive Offshore Group opens new office in Texas city Houston
Motive Offshore Group has announced the opening of its new office in Texas following a fourfold increase in its equipment for the Americas.
The company, which is headquartered at Boyndie near Banff, said this strategic expansion will support increasing operational demands and sets the stage for continued growth.
The Houston facility will serve as a central hub for Motive's operations in the Americas and reinforce its increased local capabilities, achieved through acquisitions and the relocation of cable handling equipment such as reel drive systems, tensioners and horizontal lay systems.
This initiative is critical for accompanying the firm’s approach to providing rental equipment solutions and delivering an integrated end-to-end service.
In conjunction with asset expansion, Motive is launching a recruitment drive to enhance both its onshore and offshore teams, predicting a 75 per cent increase in its local team over the next year.
This follows the appointment of Jonathan Watt as Americas regional director in August last year.
He said: “The opening of our new office in Houston and the expansion of our asset base, significantly enhances our capabilities across the Americas region, bringing us closer to our clients with a suite of key assets.
“This development is crucial not only for meeting the growing demands of the energy sector but also for aligning with important US regulations such as the Jones Act, which governs maritime operations.
“By bolstering our presence and resources, we are poised to deliver the superior service that we are known for globally.
“This includes supporting new and existing clients, and cementing our role as a key partner for ongoing success in the region.”
Supporting clients across the energy spectrum, Motive has recently completed a significant cable installation on a US east coast renewables project and is preparing to execute three umbilical installation oil and gas projects in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) with water depths ranging up to 1600 metres.
The company said these projects highlight Motive's enhanced capabilities and its commitment to supporting both traditional and renewable energy sectors on a global scale.
