On the Scot's website recently we printed a photo of three girls – thought to have been taken in the early 1970s – who looked like they were just about to enjoy a swim. However, nothing else was known about the trio.

An initial helping hand was extended from across the pond in the shape of Buckie ex-pat Jean Guy (née Murray) who managed to name two out of the three girls. She recognised Theresa Donn from Culle on the left and Moira Milne, who lived at Dytach farm. The trio and Mrs Guy were all school chums at Buckie High School.

However, the identity of the third girl remained a mystery.

Step forward the members of the Cullen Past and Present Facebook page who have identified the third girl as Linda Slater from Portknockie, who is believed to be a nurse in Aberdeen now.
