One more Covid death recorded in Moray

THERE has been one further Covid death in Moray.

Figures published by Public Health Scotland show that another person died last Thursday, having tested positive for Covid-19 within the previous 28 days.

That takes the total number of deaths now in Moray since the pandemic began to 27, and four of them have been since last Tuesday, January 21.

A total of 19 deaths have been of patients who have had a confirmed positive test for Covid, while the others have had Covid mentioned as a cause or contributory factor on the death certificate.

The total number of deaths across Scotland, of those who have tested positive for Covid is now 5888, however, the number including those where Covid is mentioned on the death certificate is 7902.

The total number of positive cases of Covid-19 since last March is now 175,3323.

The message remains for people to stay at home wherever possible,leaving only for essential food shopping, exercise, to provide care for a vulnerable friend or relative and for work where that work cannot be done at home.

Face coverings must be worn inside and 2m social distancing adhered to.
