One new case of coronavirus in Moray takes total to 75

ONE new case of coronavirus was confirmed in Moray overnight, taking the area's total to 75.

NHS Grampian reported five new cases of the virus, taking the health board's total to 1223 since the outbreak began.

According to Scottish Government figures, Aberdeenshire has 421 confirmed cases – a rise of one overnight – and Aberdeen City has 714, a rise of three overnight.

Highland council area has confirmed 193 cases, meaning there was no rise overnight.

At midnight, there were 68 people in Grampian hospitals with confirmed or suspected coronavirus, with six in intensive care.

Across Scotland, the number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus and died within 28 days is now 2245. That is an increase of 24 deaths overnight.

A total of 97,607 people have been tested for the virus in Scotland, with 82,638 negative and 14,969 positive. The number of patients discharged from hospital is 3508.
