Forres police, ambulance and fire services attend blaze in High Street flat
Police are investigating they describe as a deliberate house fire off High Street.
One person was treated by the ambulance team after emergency services were called out to the blaze in a flat above the ‘pet shop alley’ across from the Mercat Cross in the centre of town at around 11.15pm last night.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.20pm on Monday, February 17, police received a report of a fire at a property in High Street, Forres. There were no reports of anyone injured.
"The fire is being treated as wilful."
Police remain at the property while further investigation is carried out.
Three fire crews attended the scene and quickly extinguished the flames.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.15pm to reports of a fire within a domestic property.
"One casualty was taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. Crews ensured the area was safe."
