Photos by Moray carers go on display

A SERIES of photos taken by carers in Moray are going on display from today at multiple venues.

The social care charity Quarriers received entries from right across the area.

Alice Harper, its chief executive, said: "The images submitted showed the range of emotions and feelings that carers have and what caring means to them.

"We look forward to having them on display throughout Moray so others can view and understand the importance of their role."

To highlight the national Carer’s Week theme of ‘Getting Carers Connected’, the charity wanted to showcase who and what local carers feel connected to.

This close-up of a rose symbolises the importance felt by one carer of celebrating the small things in life, such as the gift of a flower from her daughter.

This image – entitled The Bridge to Happiness – was shared by a carer who designed and built it in order to get out and about in their wheelchair, reducing the feeling of being trapped inside the house.

These two dogs symbolise companionship. The pets have allowed the carer to adventure to new places and also provide a constant source of fun.

The photos will be on display until mid-December at the following venues:

  • Aberlour: Aberlour Library and Tesco
  • Buckie: Tesco, Buckie Library, Ardach Health Centre and Seafield Medical Centre
  • Dufftown: Rinnes Medical Group and Dufftown Library
  • Elgin: Linkwood Medical, Elgin Community Surgery, The Maryhill Practice, Asda, Elgin Library and A+E Dr Grays Hospital
  • Fochabers: Fochabers Medical Practice
  • Forres: Forres Library, Forres Health and Care Centre and Tesco
  • Keith: Keith Library, Keith Health Centre and Tesco
  • Rothes: Rothes Medical Centre
  • Tomintoul: Rinnes Medical Group Tomintoul
